Automatic Context

The toolbox window contents depend on the current editor context. This is defined by the active window. The toolbox will show all elements that can be dragged to the editor and hide any other element.

Toolbox Favorites

Any toolbox entry can be marked as favorite. Favorites will be displayed on top of the toolbox for quick access. Favorites are saved in the toolbox.json file. When this file is checked into version control, favorites can be shared by all users. When the file is not checked in, each user can define local favorites.

Typical Use Cases

Create Diagram Elements from Toolbox Window

To create a diagram element, click on the toolbox entry, hold the mouse button down and move the element to the diagram location. Once the mouse button is released, the element will be added to the diagram at the selected location.

Create Child Elements from Toolbox Window

For elements such as ports and interfaces, it is also possible to drop them directly to a container (e.g. an Active Part) to create them as child of that container.

Assign Data Type from Toolbox Window

To assign a data type from a toolbox entry, hold the mouse button down and move the data type to the port or field. Once the mouse button is released, the data type will be assigned to the selected element if it is a valid choice.

Add a Favorite

Right click a toolbox entry and select 'Add to Favorites' from the Context menu.

Remove a Favorite

Right click a favorite entry and select 'Remove from Favorites' from the Context menu.
