System Explorer Window

 

Explorer Views

The Explorer offers different view modes:

The View Mode can be changed in the drop down below the close window button.

Decomposition View

    • System Context Diagram
      • System Item
        • Sub-System
    • Data Types

In the Decomposition View the System Context Diagram is the root item in the Explorer tree. The System Item is listed as child item of the System Context Diagram. The rest of the hierarchy is depending on the decomposition defined by the System- and Software-Design.

In case of a multi project structure, there will be multiple System Context Diagram Items on the root level.

Solution View

  • Solution
    • Project
      • Root Namespace
        • System Context Diagram
          • System Item
            • Sub-System
        • Data Types

 

In the Solution View the Solution Item ist the root item in the Explorer. Projects will be displayed as child items of the Solution. The Root Namespace is child of the Project. The System and Data Types are displayed as child items of the Root Namespace.

Category View

The Category View groups items in the explorer by the category assigned to them. If no Category is set up this View will be empty.

Explorer Contex Menus

The context menu (right mouse button) provides the following actions:

  • The Edit action depends on the selected component.
    • For System, System Components and Active Containers the underlying diagram is opened in a new window (or you are switched to the already open diagram editor window if it is already open).
  • For Active Components, the action depends on the implementation type of the active component.
    • Implementation Type
      • Class
      • Method
